Connect the Ethernet cable from your modem to the Internet port of the router.

Connect to your secured wireless network. You can locate the wireless credentials either at the bottom of the router or on the Quick Start Guide. To prevent any problems during setup, make sure you have a good signal from the router or bring the wireless computer closer to the same room as the router.

Enter your default credentials like the username and the password to login further. You can use the following combination of username and password if you haven’t set any yet.

Username: admin; Password: admin

Once you are done entering these details you will be redirected to the main browser homepage, so you can begin working now.

You may now proceed towards accessing the internet.

Linksys Wireless Router Setup Using The Linksys Connect Software

This method tries to configure the router using Linksys connect software. If you do not have the Linksys connect software, the same can be downloaded from the official Linksys website.

Follow the process to setup the wired connection

You need to connect your router to the MODEM and computer using a CAT5 ethernet cable. Connect the other end of the cable to the WAN port of your router. Now make the power connections and switch on your router.

Power ON the router and wait for the light to turn solid green or blue. If you encounter an orange light on your computer screen you should repeat the above two steps again.

Connect the Linksys router to the computer

Now, run the Linksys Smart WiFi router setup on your computer.

Accept the license terms and click on the Next button. When the connection window appears, push the next button again. This will initiate the required installation process. Once the process gets to 25% completion level, you will see the username and the password. Make sure you remember the credentials that you use here as they will be useful in future. Now press the Next button.

Avoid changing the default credentials during the setup process. We will replace it later. The router will now start detecting the internet connection and might take some time. It will help if you leave the computer free till the time the installation is going on.

Once the setup process is completed, you will receive a message saying Congratulations and at the bottom, you’ll see the close button. Close the window and continue with the further process.
